Softball Sandlot Day

Altamont is hosting a Softball Sandlot Event on Saturday, July 23rd from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at our softball field. The event is open to girls age 6-12 regardless of where they live or whether they have previously registered with Altamont. Girls should bring whatever equipment they have - a glove in particular will be needed. There is no registration fee and no pre-registration is needed.

The idea is to provide a fun, unstructured opportunity for the girls to play softball. Adults will be there to make sure the kids stay safe but otherwise take a minimal role in the activities. The kids decide everything from what they're going to do to who's on what team (if they decide to play a game) to whether the pitch was a ball or a strike. This is the first time Altamont has hosted such an event and we are excited to see how it goes.

Girls are encouraged to bring their friends, regardless of whether they're new to softball or experienced club players. I believe the more kids we have the better the experience will be.
